FAQs

For Policyowner:

At the time of application, the Policyowner must be:

  • a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines;
  • aged at least 18 years old; and
  • Own a credit or debit card (VISA/Mastercard/JCB) under his name
For Life Assured:

At the time of application, the Life Assured must be:

  • Must either be the Policyowner or the child of the Policyowner.
  • If Life Assured is the Policyowner, his/her age must be 18-59 years old; if Life Assured is the child of the Policyowner, his/her age must be 1-17 years old.
  • A Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines
  • In good health, must not have signs and symptoms related to Dengue, and must not be diagnosed with Dengue at the time of sale.

The PRUDengue MedCare products can be availed via PRUShoppe in Pulse, Pru Life UK’s health management app. The Policyowner must register to Pulse and click on any of the PRUDengue MedCare products. Fill-out the required information and pay thru gcash, credit or debit card.

  1. Existing Pulse user

    An in-app notification will be sent to advise you about these new PRUDengue MedCare products. To begin your application, select your chosen product package, fill-out the required information such as mobile number, occupation, and scanned government ID, and pay thru gcash, credit or debit card.

  2. Non-Pulse user

    You may download the app for free from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and sign up using an email, Facebook, or Gmail account. Choose any of the PRUDengue MedCare package, fill-out the required information such as mobile number, occupation, and scanned government ID, and pay thru gcash, credit or debit card.

Only the following Government IDs are accepted:

  • Passport
  • Driver's License
  • SSS ID
  • Unified Multi-purposed ID
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
  • Voter's ID
  • PhilHealth

Kindly take note that the ID number and uploading of valid IDs are mandatory. Other valid government IDs are acceptable for upload but you should be able to manually input the ID number in the mandatory field.

Unfortunately, a proposed Life Assured showing signs and symptoms, diagnosed with, or had consulted with a Physician related to Dengue before Policy Effectivity Date or within fourteen (14) days after the Policy Effectivity Date, is no longer eligible.

Yes. A patient previously diagnosed with Dengue but has already recovered may avail the PRUDengue MedCare products as long as he/she is in good health at the time of application.

You will be given a period of fifteen (15) days from your Policy Receipt Date to review your Policy. This is called the Free Look Period. The date that the email confirmation of your policy approval is sent shall be considered as your Policy Receipt Date and your 15-day Free Look Period will begin on this date. Should you decide that the policy is not suitable to your needs and wish to cancel your Policy, you must notify us through the My Policy section of your Pulse app within the Free Look Period.

Once you have successfully paid your PRUDengue MedCare package, both Policyowner and Life Assured will receive a confirmation via email within twenty-four (24) hours. You will also see your Policy Contract in the My Policy section of your Pulse app.

The Policyowner may avail multiple PRUDengue MedCare products for different life assureds, as long as the life assured is his/her child. However, the life assured cannot own multiple PRUDengue MedCare products at the same time.

Your coverage period depends on your product package.

For both PRUDengue MedCare and PRUDengue MedCare Pro, you have the options to choose from:

  1. 6-month coverage (Package A), or
  2. 12-month coverage (Package B). The coverage end date is specified in your Policy Benefits Page which will be shown inside My Policies of PULSE.

Yes. You may renew your policy if there was no Dengue claim during the previous coverage period. We will send the Policyowner a notification and instructions on how to renew the policy fifteen (15) days before the coverage end date.

A Policyowner with an existing PRUDengue MedCare policy cannot upgrade to PRUDengue MedCare Pro product. You may only avail PRUDengue MedCare Pro once your PRUDengue MedCare policy expires.

The following are the requirements for claims submissions. As a beneficiary, you will be advised in due time how you can submit these requirements:

  • Accomplished claims form with attending physician’s statement
  • Any of the three confirmatory laboratory test results on dengue; and
    1. Dengue Virus Antigen Detection (NS1); or
    2. Dengue IgM (MAC-ELISA); or
    3. Thrombocyte count less than 100,000/mm3, with hospital confinement as shown by:
      1. admission summary and discharge clinical abstract summary; and
      2. duly certified statement of account of hospitalization;
  • For death claim, an original or certified true copy of the death certificate with registry number
  • Once claim requirements are completely submitted, beneficiaries will receive their benefit as a lumpsum after 19 working days, either through any of the following options to be specified by the beneficiary: fund transfer and cheque pick-up (only available after the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine has been lifted or until such time our operations have normalized).

    If the claims request is disapproved, we shall send a notice to the beneficiary through email.

For PRUDengue MedCare, your policy will automatically terminate once the lumpsum benefit is paid to the Life Insured upon diagnosis of Dengue.

For PRUDengue MedCare Pro, your policy will not terminate even if the one-time Php 10,000 lumpsum benefit is already paid to the Life Insured upon diagnosis of Dengue.

The benefits of PRUDengue MedCare products will terminate if any of the following circumstances occur:

  • Upon payment of Dengue Diagnosis claim (applies to PRUDengue MedCare product only); or
  • Upon reaching its Coverage End Date; or
  • In the event of the death of the Life Assured; or
  • When the Life Assured reaches age sixty (60)

For PRUDengue MedCare, no beneficiary will be assigned as the Life Assured will receive the one-time Php 10,000 lumpsum benefit for diagnosis due to dengue.

For PRUDengue MedCare Pro, policyholders may nominate a beneficiary either before policy issuance or after issuance through My Policies.

To nominate your beneficiary, you will need to input the ID and email address of your beneficiary on the app. As an option, a notification will then be sent to your beneficiary to register and log in to Pulse.

If you choose not to register a beneficiary immediately or missed to nominate a beneficiary after your PRUDengue MedCare Pro policy has been issued, your policy application will still be valid. The Add Beneficiary feature is available by doing the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Pulse account and click on My Policies.
  2. On your PRUDengue MedCare Pro policy, click on the Update Beneficiary link.
  3. Fill-out the required information of beneficiary: full name, email address, and relation to life assured. Remember to avoid hyphens or other special characters. Once done, click submit.

If you wish to change or edit your beneficiary, you are encouraged to do so at any time during the coverage period of your policy.

If no BENEFICIARY is named or alive and qualified at the time of claim, the benefit will be paid in the following order of precedence, in equal shares:

  1. Legal spouse;
  2. Children;
  3. Parent/s;
  4. Sibling/s; or
  5. Life Assured’s Estate.

All claim proceeds paid in good faith by Pru Life UK shall release it from all liability.

ID of the beneficiary is not required during the registration but it will be mandatory to submit during claims processing.

The life assured/policyowner may name anyone as his/her beneficiary if that person shall suffer financial loss should anything happen to him/her.

The PRUDengue MedCare and PRUDengue MedCare Pro are not convertible to any Pru Life UK plans.

  • Type the email address registered in Pulse.
  • Wait for the password reset code in your registered email.
  • Enter your password reset code
  • Wait for your temporary password
  • Log in using the temporary password.
  • Change the temporary password to your preferred password via Account >>> My Settings >>> Change Password
  • Ensure you have a stable Internet connection.
  • Check in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store for updates.
  • Restart your Pulse app and log in.
  • If the problem persists, restart your device. You may also need to uninstall and reinstall the app.

For now, the following details – gender, country code, phone number and email address are not editable in Pulse. These fields will be editable soon.
